The short version

• The GetOut app keeps your alarms and settings on your iPhone. It has no account, no analytics and no advertising, and it doesn’t send your data to us.
• This website only receives what you choose to give it: an email address for the launch list, a review, or details in the test checkout.
• We don’t sell personal data and we don’t use tracking or advertising cookies.

Who we are

GetOut is built by its founders, Marcus and Maks. We’re responsible for the personal data described on this page. Our registered business details and a dedicated privacy contact will be added here before orders open. Until then, see Contact.

The GetOut app

The app works without an account and without a GetOut server. The following stays on your iPhone:

• Alarms. Times, repeat days, sounds, labels and whether each alarm is on.
• Your pucks. A fingerprint calculated from each paired puck’s identifier, and the name you give it. The raw identifier isn’t saved.
• Wake-ups. When an alarm was due and when you scanned your puck. This powers your streak and the time-reclaimed estimate.
• Your routine. Your morning goal, sleep target, usual snooze time and bedtime reminder setting.
• Morning Protection. The duration you chose and the selection tokens Apple provides for your chosen apps, categories and websites. GetOut can’t see your browsing history, what you do in other apps, or how long you spend in them.

Permissions

GetOut asks for alarm access to schedule alarms and uses NFC only while you scan a puck. Screen Time access is optional and only needed for Morning Protection and Strict Mode. Notification access is optional and only used for the bedtime reminder, which is scheduled on your iPhone. You can change all of these in iPhone Settings.

How long it’s kept

Alarms and settings stay until you change or remove them. Finished wake-up records are cleared after about 90 days. Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone. If you back up your iPhone, Apple may include GetOut’s data in that backup under your own Apple settings. We have no copy to retrieve or delete.

This website

Launch list

If you sign up, we receive your email address and your consent to one launch email. We use it only to tell you when GetOut launches, not for a newsletter. The form is processed by FormSubmit, which forwards it to our inbox and keeps its own copy for a limited time. We keep your address until the launch email has been sent, or until you ask us to remove it. See how to leave the list.

Reviews

If you send a review, we store the public name, rating, title and text you enter. We read each review before it appears, and approved reviews are public. Your IP address is used briefly to limit spam and isn’t stored with your review. Reviews stay until you ask us to remove them or we take them down.

Test checkout

Real ordering isn’t open yet. The test checkout stores the details you enter for seven days and then deletes them. No payment is taken and nothing is shipped, so please use the sample details rather than your own. We’ll update this page before real orders open.

Browser storage and cookies

We don’t set tracking or advertising cookies and we don’t use analytics. Your browser stores the number of pucks in your cart, and a temporary identifier while you send a review or test order so a retry isn’t counted twice. You can clear these in your browser at any time.

Hosting and fonts

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our typeface loads from Google Fonts, so your browser also contacts Google when a page loads.

Why we’re allowed to use it

• Your consent for the launch email and for publishing your review. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Our legitimate interest in running a secure website and limiting spam.
• Steps towards a purchase once ordering opens, such as taking payment and delivering your puck.

Who helps us

We share personal data only with the services that help us run GetOut, and only for the purposes above:

• Cloudflare hosts the website and stores reviews and test orders.
• FormSubmit processes the launch-list form.
• Google provides our email inbox and serves the website’s typeface.
• Apple provides the alarm, NFC, Screen Time and notification features the app uses on your iPhone.

Some of these providers are based in or process data in the United States. We don’t sell personal data or share it for advertising.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the Netherlands that’s the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
